Material: SM541DK-Y1 is made of 420 stainless steel. 420 is a martensitic stainless steel with a slightly higher carbon content and approximately 13% chromium. Its main characteristic is that it achieves high hardness and wear resistance after heat treatment. It's more wear-resistant and better shape-retaining than common austenitic stainless steels like 201, 304. This is why we chose 420 for our dinner knife.
Design: The handle design is inspired by European court silverware craftsmanship. It has a vintage style that, combined with the substantial feel of the stainless steel. That make it both elegant and practical. The blade features a micro-serration with a smooth transition. The serrations enhance the bite force when cutting bone-in steaks, while the smooth section is suitable for softer ingredients such as bread and vegetables.
Polishing: Ordinary mirror finishes may leave a hazy appearance or dark areas, while Garbo's High Quality Mirror Polished achieves a uniform. Clear finish on both sides, from the blade edge to the back of the blade. Even the details at the handle joint can withstand magnification. This gives the blade a top-tier mirror-like effect that reflects your image.
